A price adjustment, which Costco currently calls a price match on its customer-service page, is a request for the difference when Costco lowers its own price after a purchase. For non-resale purchases, Costco says the price must drop within 30 days of the purchase date.
This is different from matching another retailer’s price. Costco says it does not price match other businesses, and it reserves the right to decide whether a request qualifies.
A crucial rule to understand is that Costco separates warehouse purchases from Costco.com purchases:
| Purchase Channel | Where to Request | How It Works | What Happens Next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warehouse Purchase | Returns Desk at the warehouse where bought | Ask about a possible price match for the purchase | The warehouse reviews and decides the request |
| Costco.com Order | Online Request a Price Match form | Complete the requested order and item information | If approved, Costco says the credit is typically issued within 5 to 10 business days to the original payment method |
Important: Costco does not match a warehouse price for a Costco.com purchase. Costco explains that online prices can include shipping and handling costs that do not apply in the warehouse.
