2. Let Recoup It do the checking

Recoup It checks recent purchases for lower prices during the 30-day adjustment window.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers about receipts, savings alerts, pricing, and Costco’s policy.

What is Costco's price adjustment policy? +

Costco calls money back after a recent price drop a “price adjustment.” In general, a non-resale purchase may be eligible if Costco lowers the price within 30 days. For a warehouse purchase, ask at the Returns counter at the warehouse where you bought it. For a Costco.com order, submit the online request form. See our 2026 Price Adjustment Policy Guide or read Costco's official policy.

How much money can I expect to get back? +

It depends on what you buy and how often Costco runs promotions. In our preview testing across real Costco receipts, members saw savings opportunities ranging from $3.00 to $15.00 on bulk household staples, diapers, pantry goods, and seasonal items. The 30-day monitoring period is designed to catch opportunities that are easy to miss.

What is Price Watch and how does it help before I buy? +

Price Watch lets you monitor items before making a purchase. Enter a Costco item name or item number, and Recoup It will alert you if it detects a lower price or promotion.

What can I upload? +

Upload a clear photo of a Costco receipt or a PDF receipt from Costco.com. Both recent and older receipts are welcome.

How do I find my receipts on Costco.com? +

Sign in to Costco.com and open Orders & Returns. For a warehouse purchase, choose In-Warehouse. For a Costco.com purchase, choose View Order Details. Then save or print the receipt as a PDF.

Do I need to share my Costco password? +

No. Recoup It does not ask for your Costco password. You choose and upload the receipt yourself.

How long will Recoup It check my purchases? +

For recent purchases, Recoup It checks the items on your receipt for up to 30 days from the purchase date. You can still upload older receipts to build your purchase history and add items to your Price Watch, but they may be outside Costco's window for asking for money back.

Does Recoup It get the money back for me? +

No. Recoup It sends you a savings alert and shows you how to ask Costco. Costco makes the final decision.

Will Recoup It find every savings opportunity? +

No. Recoup It currently works with U.S. Costco purchases and uses prices and promotions available online. It does not follow prices at every individual warehouse, so some local or warehouse-only offers may be missed.

Why is Recoup It free? +

Recoup It is free during the public preview, and you do not need a payment card to create an account. If the service helps you, you can choose to leave a tip through the Food Court Tip Jar. Tips help cover the cost of running Recoup It, but they are always optional and do not affect your account, price checks, savings alerts, or support. If pricing changes in the future, we will tell you first and will not charge you without your permission.

Is Recoup It affiliated with Costco? +

No. Recoup It is independent from Costco Wholesale Corporation. You can read the full independence statement in our Terms of Service or email [email protected] with questions.
